The Mathematics Research Institute financially supports visitors for seminars as well as short and long term visitors involved in collaborative research with Mathematics Department faculty.
Faculty can apply for MRI support for short term visitors using the MRI Proposal Form.
Alain Connes of the Collège de France and IHES and as an OSU Distinguished Professor of Mathematics, will present a lecture course on Noncommutative Geometry and Number Theory with the first overview talk on May 3, 4:00 - 5:00 in CH240. There will be a tea preceding this talk at 3:00 - 4:00 in MW 724. Dr. Connes will continue the mini-course to be held from Tuesday, May 7 through Friday, May 10 from 10:30 - 11:30 in CH240.
The MRI has invited M. S. Raghunathan from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay as a Distinguished Visitor from March 24 - April 14, 2013. He will present a colloquium talk, April 4, 2013 at 4:30 - 5:30 in CH 240. There will be a tea preceding this talk at 3:30- 4:30 in MW 724. There is also a mini-course of six lectures on The Congruence Subgroup Problem on Wednesday March 27, April 3, and April 10 in MW 154 and Friday March 29, April 5, and April 12 in CH240. All of the six lectures are scheduled from 4:10 - 5:30.
The MRI has invited Gregory Margulis from Yale University to be the MRI Zassenhaus lecturer. He will present his lectures on October 24, October 25, and October 26, 2012 at 4:30 - 5:30 in 355 Jennings Hall.
There will be refreshments served each day at 3:30 in 724 Math Tower.
